Offered is a Roseville Donatello art pottery bowl, dating to approximately 1915–1925, an early period of production for this highly collectible line.
The piece features the classic raised cherub (putti) relief band, along with the distinctive ribbed form and blended green, cream, and brown glaze associated with the Donatello pattern.
This example is unmarked, which is not uncommon for early Roseville production, as pieces from this period were often ink-stamped or left unmarked, with many marks fading over time. This bowl was acquired from the same estate as a clearly stamped Donatello piece, and the glaze, form, and decoration are fully consistent with authentic early examples.
Dimensions:
• Height: approx. 5 inches
• Width: approx. 6 inches
Condition:
• No cracks or repairs observed
• Typical age-related wear and glaze crazing
• Minor surface imperfections consistent with early 20th century pottery
• Displays very well
Collector Notes:
The Donatello line is one of Roseville’s earlier and more sculptural designs, and early pieces—especially those with subtle glaze variation and light or absent markings—are increasingly appreciated by collectors.
A great opportunity to add an early Donatello example to your collection.
