Hello again! I started work on this about 2 months ago. its been off and on because of my regular job and the storm that hit indiana. finally got back to it!!! when you think of sambar stag, dont you see this piece in your vision? its perfect! same quality on both sides and unaltered. I think its the nicest piece I have ever seen. I make everything you see from flat stock and square stock for the brass. the steel is from new jersey steel baron(1084)their own formula and it is some tough stuff! the main bevel is hollow ground and top bevel is flat ground using 1/4" flat stock. all freehand grinding. the convex edge is shaving sharp. I used my grinder to shape the guard, hand filed in some accents and colored with brass black, same with the pommel. the polished copper spacer adds just the right amount of contrast. full hidden tang but not all the way through the pommel, about 3/4 the way. all epoxied together with slow cure commercial grade stuff. the guard is also fully soldered in place and everything neutralized. the sheath is right handed and custom fitted for the knife. I used 9oz leather, hand tooled the weave, dyed and antiqued and sealed/polished. hand stitched! might be the best looking knife i have made yet, imo haha. hope you like it!!!
