DESCRIPTION:An extraordinary late 19th to early 20th century Americanantique biscuit box with some wood loss at the very front of the lid. The front paper label, as well as the additional affixed paper label on the underside of the lid are both intact and still with nearly saturated, vivid colors. A simply wonderful late 19th to early 20th century American antique period artifact and terrific piece of early mercantile advertising and a wonderful American antique biscuit box. Aside from the episode of wood loss along the front of the box\'s hinged lid, it\'s still an extraordinary early biscuit box in well-preserved condition. The affixed paper label on the front of the box is nearly intact, with almost no paper loss and with perhaps only a scuff at its mid-section, likely caused by previous stacking. The top, hinged wooden lid is affixed with early, primitive wire hinges and reinforced for stacking with nailed wood strapping. The box is made of pine and has nailed corner construction and a wood plank floor. The paper label underneath the lid, features a rural, bucolic scene, with a farmhouse and barn with animals. Just terrific. Absolutely, 100% untouched and as it was found in the southern New Hampshire home it was discovered in. Outstanding.
