Due to its small size, thissgian-dubh style dagger (new) is popular among folks of Scottish descent as wedding accessories or to keep on their desks as a letter opener.It is alsoa knife that is worn as part of traditional Scottish Highland dress along with the kilt; it is worn tucked into the top of the kilt hose with only the upper portion of the hilt visible. It evolved from the Highland custom of depositing weapons at the entrance to a house prior to entering as a guest.
The sgian-dubh being sold is quite a nice piece. Measuring 6-5/8” (7” including scabbard), it has a 3-3/8” stainless steel blade with a mirror polished finish. The handle and scabbard are black synthetic with silver-tone trim and very nice artwork.
