I am selling an autographed Sherwin Callander4x6 photograph.
Callander (1920–2022) was a highly decorated American World War IIveteran of the U.S. Navy who survived some of the war's most pivotal battles, includingthe aftermath of Pearl Harbor and the D-Day invasion at Normandy.
Callander was stationed aboard the USS Wright (AV-1), he was returningfrom a mission near Midway and Wake Islands on December 7, 1941. He arrived atthe base the next morning to witness the devastation firsthand, laterdescribing the harrowing task of pulling bodies from the water.
After volunteering for amphibious training, he participatedin three major invasions: North Africa, Italy (Sicily), and D-Day at Normandy.
He was among the first wave to land at Utah Beach during theNormandy invasion on June 6, 1944.
