This is a House on the Hill Folk Art Springerle Rolling Pin. It features 9 designs with Hearts, Flowering Tree, Harp, Mill, Floral, Boy with Hoop, Pinks, Man with Plant and Garden in the Model M1556.
It is 13” total length, 4.9” cylinder length, and 2” in diameter. Each design section is 2-1/8” x 1-3/8”.
House On The Hill cookie molds and rolling pins are made of a resin and wood composite. Each is individually cast and carefully finished by hand. Most of the designs are replicas of antique carvings that are now in museums and private collections. Since the original carvings have imperfections such as surface cracks and worm holes, the replicas mimic these characteristics. This adds a sense of authenticity and charm and makes them beautiful enough for display.
It is in excellent used condition with only minimal signs of wear. Use a soft bristled brush to clean flour after using. Only wash by hand, and never soak.
