Stanwell was founded in 1942 inBorup, Denmark, and went on to become one of the most prolific and respectedpipe factories in Scandinavian history. This Jubilee pipe was produced to markthe company’s 40th anniversary — stamped 'Stanwell / Jubilee / 1942–1982' onthe shank, it is a documented factory commemorative, not a generic productionpipe.
The briar on this pipe isexceptional for a production commemorative. The full, rounded bowl displaysdense straight grain sweeping across the bowl face, with flame grain developingtoward the shank. The deep reddish-brown stain brings out the figure beautifully.The gentle bent shank and vulcanite stem give the pipe an easy, comfortablefeel in the hand.
The bowl interior is clean anduniform. The vulcanite stem is fully restored — black, polished, and free ofoxidation. The pipe sits well on its heel and balances naturally as a hand pipeor gentle clench.
Condition: Carefullyrestored estate pipe. Bowl reamed and sanitized. Vulcanite stem cleaned andpolished. Briar wax buffed to a warm luster. Please review all photos carefully— surface imperfections from prior use are visible and fully represented.
