One of the most beautiful unmarked antique copper pots I have ever laid my eyes on.The standout features are the extremely unusual scalloped scrollwork-style brass side handles and the rare rectangular brass lid handle, all secured with copper rivets.Based on the dovetailed construction, hardware style, and period examples, this piece is likely French and late 19th century, approximately c. 1860–1900. It is unmarked, so no specific maker attribution is claimed.Professionally restored and freshly retinned by Rocky Mountain Retinning. Beautifully polished exterior with a fresh tin lining ready for use. Antique copper and brass retain expected age-related irregularities, tool marks, and surface character.
Because of the pot’s age and decades of use and polishing, much of the original hammering has become lighter and less pronounced, though it is still visible under the right light.A truly distinctive collector-quality piece. Part of my personal collection.
