T.J. Hileman Bird Rattler Blackfeet Native American Vintage Photo Glacier Park For Sale

Vintage portrait of Bird Rattler, Blackfeet, by Tomar J. (T.J.) Hileman (1882-1945), the Kalispell, Montana photographer who ran Glacier Studio and served from 1924 as official photographer for the Great Northern Railway at Glacier National Park. Hileman's portraits of Blackfeet elders and leaders, sold to park visitors at the Glacier Park Lodge and Many Glacier Hotel in the 1920s and 1930s, are now the defining images of the Blackfeet at Glacier and are held by the Glenbow Museum, the Montana Historical Society, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.

Bird Rattler is shown, with Hileman's characteristic attention to expression, attire, and composition.
