TESTED J Hoare Iroquois Antique ABP Cut Glass Fancy Olive Dish 395nm Glow: $78.99
This is an authentic museum-grade antique American Brilliant Period (ABP) oval fancy olive or pickle dish hand-cut by the legendary J. Hoare Glass Company in their iconic "Iroquois" pattern, circa 1900. The substantial, heavy lead crystal blank is masterfully cut with brilliant geometric pinwheel hobstars, multi-point rosettes, fine crosshatched cane fields, and deep, sharp mitre lines that feed into an elegant scalloped saw-tooth edge. Formulated at the turn of the century with a rare, highly concentrated batch of manganese as a clarifying agent, this crystal piece defies standard glass limits by yielding an intense, vibrant fluorescent lime-green reaction under a standard 395nm UV blacklight. Condition Antique pre-owned condition. The heavy lead crystal blank maintains high refractive clarity with zero interior cloudiness or chemical sickness. A rigorous edge-to-edge inspection reveals standard honest minor pinpoint rough spots and tiny flea bites along the razor-sharp mitre cuts and scalloped rim teeth, entirely expected and characteristic of an authentic 125-year-old hand-cut glass masterpiece. There are no large chips, structural cracks, or repairs. Features Hand-cut by the renowned J. Hoare Glass Company (Corning, NY) circa 1900 Documented authentic "Iroquois" geometric pinwheel and cane motif pattern High-potency manganese formula yields a bright fluorescent green 395nm UV glow Premium, heavy-weight lead crystal composition with brilliant light diffraction
