The Great Parade Tarot is a 78 card tarot deck inspired by historical Italian tarot designs -- especially the Bolognese tarot which dates back to at least 1500 CE. Designed by Ian Cumpstey, this tarot deck has no text or numbers and the suits are standard tarot suits (Swords, Clubs, Coins, and Cups). In the Minor Arcana, both the Jacks and Kings are slightly unusual (when compared to modern tarot designs). Two of the Jacks are women (the Coins and Cups) while the other two are men (Swords and Clubs). As for the Kings, two are old (Coins and Cups) while the other two are young (Swords and Clubs). The layouts for the number cards are very similar to modern Italian suited decks, save for the Ace of Coins which features a hound and a hare.
This deck is the First Edition which has more blue in the designs, a blue & white card back, and was printed in Italy on German black-core stock with smooth finish. The cards are 62 x 100 mm (similar width to standard poker decks, but a little taller).
