Josh Billings was the pen name for Henry Wheeler Shaw, a contemporary of Mark Twain. Billings was noted for quotes as: “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself “, and another favorite “Half of the troubles of this life can be traced to saying yes too quickly and not saying no enough”.

CDVs are in good condition and the signature on the back of one is most likely not his own.
