An UNUSED NAUTICAL MARLINSPIKE. These tools were used to assist in the splicing of rope or cable or the making of order out of knots in these materials. This unused ten-inch length example was found in a warehouse of World War II military surplus items. It is identical in form to marlinspikes produced by C. Drew & Company of Kingston, Massachusetts and was likely produced by them for the U.S. Navy as part of the war effort.
