Unusual 1900s Early Staffordshire Dog Modelled In The Round Unknown Maker/Model For Sale

Molded In the Round:
Older turn-of-the-century manufacturers used three-part or four-part slip molds to wrap details completely around the back of the figure. This allowed the dogs to be displayed anywhere, such as a dining table centerpiece or in a window facing out.The majority of Staffordshire Dogs were flat-backed, or came in pairs, left and right facing. this example looks forward but does have the coat texture of the Scotish "Wally Dogs" but also wears a moulded locket that is typical of the early English models, so its a mystery.Solid; not a flimsy modern version.
