Up for sale is an exceptional, vintage 14-inch Dansk "Flamestone" Fluted Round Covered Casserole / Skillet designed by legendary Danish designer Jens H. Quistgaard (JHQ).

This piece features a great story: it was purchased directly from a high-end kitchen boutique where it was used as a store display and featured in just three cooking demonstrations. Aside from those brief demos, it has never been used,making it effectively in like-new condition.

If you examine the outer domed lid under light, you will see subtle circular brush strokes and textured glaze variations in the dark matte finish. This is original to the manufacturing process and NOT a post-factory flaw or paint.

• The Finish: Dansk’s iconic 1950s/60s Flamestone line features a dense stoneware body finished with a hand-applied matte dark chocolate glaze on the exterior prior to kiln firing. Those visible brush marks are the authentic mark of hand-applied glazing by Danish artisans.

• The Interior: The cooking surface features a smooth, durable, factory-baked semi-gloss ceramic glaze in white, creating a striking contrast with the dark exterior.
