Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible vintage 1987 wooden Knight nutcracker stemming from the historic Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) region of West Germany.Standing approximately 11 inches tall, this figure is beautifully hand-carved and hand-painted, portraying a noble medieval knight in a striking grey color scheme complete with classic weaponry accent and traditional leather detailing. It perfectly exemplifies the meticulous, centuries-old woodturning craftsmanship that makes authentic German folk art world-famous.This is one in set of 4 nutcrackers I obtained from a woman who bought them in the 90s on a trip to Europe. It is marked Germany on the bottom. She took very good care of it. I see only one flaw on the helmet and it may have had a shield at some point.
