Exceptional, large-scale mid-century modern brutalist crucifix wall sculpture dating from the 1960s–1970s. This striking piece features an abstract, geometric representation of Christ welded onto a minimalist iron cross.
Unlike the more common 17-inch versions, this is an architectural-sized statement piece measuring 26 inches long and weighing a substantial 6 lbs. It is constructed from heavy, thick torch-cut steel and solid iron rods, giving it incredible texture and depth.
The sculpture retains its original deep black/dark charcoal chemical patina. It is entirely unsigned, which is standard for studio metalwork of this era.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful, rich aged patina. Structurally rock-solid with tight, clean welds. No structural damage, breaks, or repairs. Please review the photos closely to appreciate the raw, jagged brutalist texture.
