This hand-carved wooden keepsake box is a vintage high relief-carved storage box, likely crafted from rosewood or mahogany. The intricate "high-relief" design featuring oversized roses and leaves is characteristic of artisanal woodworking from Honduras, a region known for deep carving.
It is unknown when the box was made. The 6/2000 could possibly mean June 2000 or it could mean this is a limited edition piece being #6 out of 2000.
The box hasn’t been deep cleaned. I only used a clean dry paint brush to get most of the dust off. Some good wood cleaner or soap cleaner may get the leftover dust off very well for the ultimate shine.
