VTG Maitland-Smith Celadon Green Crackle Glaze Ceramic Rabbit Lidded Trinket Box For Sale

New in the shop is a beautiful, vintage Maitland-Smith lidded ceramic trinket box. This exquisite postmodern piece features a light celadon green glazed finish with an intentional fine crackle glaze design. The lid is adorned with a wonderfully sculpted figurine of a crouching bunny rabbit, making it a perfect piece for spring decor, a vanity catchall, or a high-end addition to an Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, or postmodern ceramic collection.

The bottom retains (most of) its authentic gold foil Maitland-Smith label showing it was beautifully crafted in Thailand, along with an incised factory hallmark stamped straight into the unglazed clay base.

Markings & Authenticity:

• Features the hand-incised artisan workshop signature/mark directly on the raw, unglazed ceramic underside.
  
• The distinctive webbed lines are part of the original,intentional crackle glazingtechnique.

Condition Details:

• Excellent Vintage Condition. Very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs to the ceramic body or the rabbit finial. Please note that there is a light double score line in the glaze on one side of the box. Not sure how, but the base itself is not compromised.
• Someone started to remove the original foil sticker, but thankfully for us, they stopped. The brand name remains clearly legible and this even allows for an even better reading of the original potter\'s signature.Pricing has beenreduced to reflect these anomalies.
