Permanently welded inside are 8 meticulously hand-cut, punched, and brightly lacquered aniline figures representing the Holy Family, an Angel, the Three Wise Men, and nativity animals, all reflecting a brilliant multi-dimensional, holographic-style light effect.
About the Artist
Master Tirso Cuevas has dedicated over 34 years to perfecting the art of tinsmithing, serving as a pioneer in his family for this intricate craft technique.
Native to Oaxaca, Mexico, he began his brilliant career collaborating directly with the legendary painter Rodolfo Morales to create custom, intricate tin frames for Morales's artwork.
Known for taking traditional hojalata to museum-level heights, Master Cuevas's creations span from delicate jewelry boxes to monumental installations, such as his famous peacock for Atelier Casa Abierta.
