About the Box
Vans Custom Culture is the brand\'s national high school shoe customization competition, and 2018 was the 9th annual edition (the program launched in 2010 and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019). The 2018 program partnered with Yoobi, Journeys, and Americans for the Arts, with a $75,000 grand prize awarded to Hixson High School in Tennessee. The sunburst engraving reflects the program\'s 2018 \"Off The Wall\" visual identity, designed in collaboration with featured artist Kindah Khalidy.
This wood box is a limited promotional piece tied to that contest cycle — not a retail item. Solid build throughout: dovetail corner joinery, twin brass side latches, recessed brass lid hinges, and a wide leather handle riveted with brass hardware to the top of the lid. Interior is unfinished beech. The reconfigurable divider system makes it equally well-suited as a working artist\'s toolbox, jewelry chest, watch/EDC valet, or display piece.
Condition
Excellent pre-owned condition. Wood surfaces, leather handle, and brass hardware are clean with no scuffs, dents, or scratches. The laser engraving is crisp on all sides. Latches click securely and hinges operate smoothly. All wooden dividers are present and undamaged. One small dot inside the bottom of the box (visible in interior photos) is cosmetic only and not visible when in use. The item pictured is the exact item that you will receive.
