Vintage Vaughan SJ9 trim hammer, 10 oz head, hickory handle, still carrying its labels. Head checked and re-tightened on the handle by a craftsman with 45 years at the bench. 290mm overall. Ships from Japan with tracking.
THE HAMMER
The head is stamped VAUGHAN / SJ9 - 10 oz. / MADE IN U.S.A. - photo 2 shows the stamp. The other cheek is stamped WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES and A8C (photo 3).
The handle is hickory. The Vaughan label on the handle and the round label on the head are both still in place (photos 1 and 2).
THE WORK I DID
I am a retired furniture maker. For 45 years I worked by hand here in Japan. I have checked the head on the handle and re-tightened it before selling.
CONDITION
Head: light rust spots and wear on the cheeks and claw - photos 2 to 4 show them.
Labels: present on the head and the handle, worn with age.
Handle: hickory.
Head on handle: re-tightened.
I photograph flaws rather than hide them. Please examine all photos for exact condition.
