Coushatta (Koasati) owl baskets are handwoven, coiled art pieces crafted by Louisiana Native American artisans using longleaf pine needles and raffia. They often feature detailed, whimsical designs with wings, ears, and talons. Please review the photos carefully as they are intended to be an accurate representation of the item.This is a fabulous example of a Coushatta basket. It is unusually large basket shaped into an owl. It stands 14” high. The head comes off. This is a vintage piece in very good condition. It features marble eyes. The talons are clutching a piece of wood.
This is a vintage hand made piece. It is in excellent condition with no known flaws. However, there are likely to be various minor irregularities given the handmade nature of this basket.This piece weighs about 4lb 2 oz before without packaging Unfortunately this requires a large box so postage will vary significantly by location.
