Vintage 1957 Sony TR-63 Green Transistor Radio Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo Japan - PARTS For Sale

Beautiful example of this 1950s radio in the very 50s green. Some discoloration around the headphone jack and scattered cosmetic imperfections but very nice for its age.
I attached a 9v battery to this and turned it on. When it switched to "On" I did hear some very brief static or crackling, and would hear some additional static/crackling while I was adjusting the volume wheel, but could never get consistent static or any reception.
