Vintage 1960s–70s Massachusetts State Flag – Framed Cotton Silk-Screened Flag
30" x 22.5" Shadow Box
Offered is a vintage Massachusetts State Flag, believed to date from the 1960s–1970s, professionally displayed in a substantial custom-made shadow-box frame.
The flag features the historic Massachusetts state coat of arms, including the Native American figure, white star, arm and sword, and the state motto:
“Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem”
“By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty.”
The flag is 100% cotton and silk-screened, with the Massachusetts emblem visible on both sides. The original flag measures approximately 15" x 23".
It has been professionally mounted on natural cotton denim and protected behind UV-resistant plexiglass. The substantial black frame was handcrafted from kiln-dried wood and finished using a multi-step finishing process. The deep shadow-box construction gives the piece an attractive dimensional presentation.
