This specimen comes from my late father’s personal mineral collection, assembled primarily during his youth in the 1950s–1970s. He was an avid mineral collector who attended shows, traveled to collecting locations, and acquired specimens through collecting, purchases, and trades.An especially interesting feature of this piece is its double labeling:
• Handwritten label identifying it as “Calcite – Mexico”
• An additional older, heavily faded handwritten label attached to the underside of the specimen box
The older label is no longer clearly legible and has been left completely untouched. It is possible the second label was added because the original was fading, but that cannot be confirmed.The specimen features numerous white-to-translucent calcite crystals, including several prominent pointed crystals rising above the smaller cluster.Condition: Vintage collection specimen. Crystals and box show age consistent with long-term storage. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
