Description
Vintage folding advertising key holder made for Cambria Motors, Inc. of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
The piece features attractive translucent/marbled green molded handle panels with gold-tone impressed advertising reading “Compliments of Cambria Motors, Inc. Johnstown, PA.” The compact holder was designed to carry keys folded inside the body in much the same fashion as a pocketknife.
Measures approximately 3 1/8 inches long when closed.
Cambria Motors was an automobile dealership operating in Johnstown during the 1930s, making this a neat crossover collectible for vintage automotive advertising, Pennsylvania memorabilia, Johnstown history, and antique key/accessory collectors. A period Cambria Motors Buick advertisement survives from 1934.
The green outer material shows age-related wear, surface marks, discoloration and some warping/bowing away from the metal interior. Hardware shows oxidation/tarnish consistent with age. Advertising remains clearly readable.
