Vintage Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. 22589 two-blade pocket knife with jigged handles and shield.
Measures approximately 3 3/8” closed.
Shows considerable age and use wear. Larger blade has extensive sharpening/wear, heavy scratching and surface wear, along with one tiny chip to the cutting edge as shown in the close-up photo. Smaller blade has a tiny ding/damaged spot at the tip. Blades and metal surfaces show additional scratches, staining, patina/oxidation and general wear.
Note on closing: If the smaller blade is closed first, the larger blade can catch on the wrong side of it instead of nesting properly. Closing the larger blade first avoids this issue.
Jigged handles show general age/use wear. Tang marked Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley and 22589.
