Vintage Cuendet Swiss Musical Cuckoo Clock 7703-13 West German Movement Dancers For Sale

Cuendet Swiss musical movement, model 7703-13. Plays two tunes: “Die Mühle im Schwarzwald” (The Mill in the Black Forest) and “Holzhackerbub’n Marsch” (Woodchopper Boys’ March). Original Cuendet label present on the case (see photos).

Genuine Cuendet Swiss musical movement paired with a vintage West German cuckoo movement (movement plate stamped “Made in West Germany,” which dates it pre-1990). Half-timbered painted chalet facade (white with dark wood trim), carved wood shingle roof, a cuckoo bird that emerges from the roof-peak door, a rotating platform of Bavarian folk-dress dancer couples in the arched alcove, and two painted flanking figures (a woman with an umbrella/basket, a man with an accordion). Three-weight movement (time, cuckoo/strike, music).

Functional status — tested by me personally. I cleaned the clock, rehung the three weights and chains, and tested it. The cuckoo, music box, and dancers are all fully working and sound and look wonderful: at the hour the door opens, the bird emerges with a clear cuckoo call, and immediately afterward the Cuendet music box plays beautifully while the dancer figures rotate and move. Please read — pendulum/timekeeping disclosure (why this is priced as-is): The clock will run correctly on its own for only a short time (about 6–10 seconds) after I start the pendulum by hand, then the pendulum loses momentum and stops. This is the classic “out of beat / needs leveling and service” condition common to vintage cuckoo clocks that have sat unused — it is NOT a missing or broken part. The clock most likely needs to be set “in beat” (adjusted on the wall until the tick-tock is even like a metronome) and/or given a routine professional cleaning and oiling, which these decades-old movements typically need. I am not a clock technician and have not performed internal service, so I am disclosing this fully and pricing accordingly. Everything else — cuckoo, music, dancers, and all structural parts (roof, chains, dial, weights, both figures) — is present and confirmed working.

Cosmetics: Honest vintage condition with some paint wear on the white facade and on the figures’ painted details, consistent with age and use (see photos). Structurally complete and solid.
