Most likely 1960s production based on serial range.The Pocket Transit is the legendary all-in-one compass and clinometer used by geologists, surveyors, foresters, mining engineers, and archaeologists for well over a century — and the design the U.S. Army adopted as its artillery compass. Sight a distant target through the folding peep sights and read the needle in the mirrored lid via the sight line; the dial is graduated in degrees (quadrant 0–90 and 360 ring).Features:

The needle swings freely and settles, the needle lifter engages when the lid is closed, the clinometer moves correctly, and the bubble levels hold air. Honest used condition consistent with age and field use: the crinkle finish is largely intact with expected wear, the mirror does have a single crack line but the rest is intact, and the dial face is legible with crisp graduations.
