VINTAGE HALLOWEEN BLACK CAT LANTERN
Adorable vintage 1940s double sided die cut heavy cardboard Halloween lantern measuring 7-1/2 tall by about 3-1/2" deep. Featuring an open mouth black cat wearing orange bow tie, tab construction, original bail handle and color inserts on each side, interior base bears a hole where the original candleholder once resided - each side is finished with die cut whiskers, nose, eyes and mouth.
Condition is good with a bit of folding/point wear to the ear tips - as you can see, the face has sustained taping and some paint repair - rather crudely done, but still displays very nicely. Think this puss is just adorable - unmarked but manufactured By DOLLY TOY CO., Tipp City, Ohio. Just a fun vintage piece - wonderful addition to any Halloween collection or display!
