Now this is a proper old-school English pipe.
A Barling 4389 Straight Apple from the post-transition era, wearing the flowing Barling script over 4389 / London England. Big round apple bowl, long lean stem, and that slightly rakish profile that makes these older Barlings look like they’ve already got a story or two under their belt.
The finish has gone to a deep warm chestnut with plenty of character in the briar, and the proportions are just dead-on — substantial in the hand without looking clunky.
Barling is one of those names that needs very little introduction. The family-era pipes may get most of the collector glory, but the post-transition pieces still have that unmistakable English Barling character and remain terrific, highly collectible smokers.
Handsome old Barling, killer shape, and enough English attitude to make a bulldog jealous.

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
