Vintage Equestrian Horse Plate Wall Collection 1920s 1950s 3 to 10.5 in. For Sale

A collected set of four vintage equestrian horse portrait plates ranging from the 1920s through the mid-century era. The different sizes, shapes and colors make these especially nice displayed together as an equestrian gallery wall.

The largest turquoise plate measures approximately 10 1/2 in. and features a pair of bridled horses surrounded by a vivid turquoise border with ornate gold scrollwork and gold trim. This plate is attributed to Taylor, Smith & Taylor and dates approximately to the 1950s to early 1960s.

The pink and cream plate measures approximately 10 in. and features a detailed bridled horse portrait with a wide gold rim. It is marked Crescent China with the K wreath backstamp and decoration/pattern number 4980. This plate dates to approximately the 1920s.

The heart-shaped plate measures approximately 5 1/2 in. and features a gray horse portrait surrounded by an openwork pierced-heart border. It is marked JAPAN on the reverse and retains its hanging wire. Approximately 1950s to 1960s.

The smallest plate measures approximately 3 in. and features a gray horse portrait on white porcelain with a softly scalloped edge and delicate gold trim. It is unmarked and the maker is unknown, likely mid-century.

All four are vintage and show expected age-related wear, including some wear to the gold decoration and rims. No major chips or cracks are apparent. The four pieces are being sold together as one collection.
