Original Glenn L. Martin Co. Aircraft Maintenance Tool Kit – Part No. R-220035 “FLAP-LEFT”
Offered here is an unusual surviving Glenn L. Martin Company aircraft maintenance tool/fixture set in its original wooden storage case with removable inner tray.
The original manufacturer’s data plate is still attached to the case and reads:

I contacted aviation historical/archive sources specifically to research this piece. According to correspondence with a volunteer highly knowledgeable about the history of the Martin Company, who also consulted a period maintenance manual, this type of equipment was used in connection with balancing aircraft ailerons/control surfaces and could have been applicable to multiple aircraft types.
Based upon the data tag, the kit was estimated to date from approximately the 1940s–1950s.
The historical source also advised that their collection did not contain a similar example, and a separate archival search did not locate documentation for this exact R-220035 part number.
Included: Original Glenn L. Martin wooden case, removable wooden tray, and all metal tools/fixtures/components shown in the photographs.
The exact original completeness of the kit cannot be independently verified, so it is being sold exactly as photographed.
This is an authentic vintage piece showing genuine age and service/storage wear. The wooden case has scratches, scuffs, finish loss, staining, small chips and other wear. Hardware and metal components show oxidation, discoloration and wear consistent with age. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
