Vintage Gorky González Mexican majolica pottery pitcher, hand-thrown and hand-painted in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Decorated with cobalt blue, green, yellow, brown and black floral/foliate motifs on a creamy glazed ground, with coordinating painted bands around the neck.
Measures approximately 8" tall and about 7" wide including the handle. Opening measures approximately 4" across.
Bottom is hand marked “AT / GTO MEX.” The AT mark is associated with Gorky González and refers to alfarería tradicional (traditional ceramics), while GTO refers to Guanajuato, Mexico.
Vintage pre-owned condition. There is a small chip/glaze loss on the upper rim, shown clearly in the photos. Also has normal handmade characteristics including glaze variation, small firing pits/pinholes and irregularities.
