Description
Vintage green ribbed glass refrigerator water bottle/carafe dating to the Depression-era / early-mid 20th century style.
Features a rectangular flattened body, vertical ribbing, rounded shoulders and a metal screw-top lid. Bottles of this style were made for keeping water or juice cold in the refrigerator. Similar examples were produced by companies including Frigidaire, Anchor Hocking and others, so I would leave the manufacturer blank unless you find a mark on the bottom.
The glass has a pale green tint and appears to fluoresce under UV light. Uranium-containing glass typically produces a rich bright green fluorescence under UV illumination.
