A wonderfully animated cast-metal greyhound or whippet figure with an elongated silhouette, lifted paw and expressive turned head. Finished in a deep green bronze-style patina, the small sculpture has an elegant sense of movement and makes a handsome decorative accent for a desk, mantel, bookshelf or stack of books.
Approximately 5¼ inches long and 4½ inches high. No maker’s mark observed. Exact age and metal composition are unknown.
Condition: Good preowned decorative condition with surface variation, rubbing and small marks consistent with age and display. The undersides of the paws show exposed metal and flattened contact points; it is unknown whether the figure was originally mounted on a separate base. Please review photographs carefully.
