Heritage
Jean-Paul Guerlain composed Chant d’Arômes in 1962 as a bridal fragrance for his fiancée. It became one of the house’s most graceful floral chypres, soft, powdery, and luminous with white flowers.
The Signature & Provenance
This bottle bears the signature of Jean-Paul Guerlain himself — the creator of this fragrance and the last family master perfumer of the house — written by hand in metallic ink directly on the glass. It comes from the collection of a woman who worked the fragrance counter at I. Magnin, the landmark San Francisco department store, and gathered signed Guerlain bottles during her years there, most likely at an in-store appearance. I acquired it directly from her, along with other bottles bearing his signature. No third-party certificate accompanies this item; please study the close-up photos of the signature.
