Authentic 19th to early 20th-century hand-blown glass rolling pin / pastry roller. A wonderful genuine piece of primitive kitchenware and early glassmaking history.​Craftsmanship: Hand-blown hollow construction featuring a prominent, unpolished rough snapped pontil scar on the tip of one handle end.
​Color: Smoky soft blue frosted cylinder body tapering into deeper translucent cobalt-blue molded handles.​History: In the 1800s, hollow glass rolling pins were prized by bakers (often chilled with ice or cold water to keep pastry flakier) and frequently kept as sailor’s folk tokens for good luck in the home.​Condition: Excellent antique condition with no structural cracks or damage outside of the expected rough pontil break from the glassblower’s rod.
