IRWIN Company History
IRWIN’s roots go back to 1884, when Charles Irwin acquired rights to a solid-center auger bit developed by a local blacksmith in Martinsville, Ohio. In 1885, Irwin and several partners formed the IRWIN Auger Bit Company. The company eventually expanded well beyond woodworking tools, becoming known for a wide range of professional hand tools and accessories.
