LIDSVILLE METAL LUNCHBOX & PLASTIC/GLASS THERMOS from AladdinIndustries 1971. This veryrare R-6 kit features scenes and characters from the Sid and Marty Krofft TVshow of the same name – which ran on Saturday mornings in 1971-1972 on NBC, andrebroadcast on NBC until 1973. Anothermasterpiece by AL artistic director Elmer Lehnhardt (who invented the embossed panelfeatured on this box). Awesome useof color with main protagonist Mark and the Magician Horatio J. HooDoo in hismagic hat and Weenie the genie – along with other wacky characters on thepanels. Hey – you can’t make this stuffup – unless of course your Sid and Marty.One of our favorite TV show-themed boxes – with beautiful use of colorsand characters.An investment-grade example - to be shipped fully insured.
Condition: Box and Thermos are completeand correct (including the original wire thermos holder). Box has no blemishes to the raised areas on the main front and rear panels so typical with these vintage embossed boxes. Side panels are also clean and glossy throughout. Very light rim wear on front - a tad heavier on back - with no corner dents or dimples. Metal hardware is nice and shiny. Inside is clean overall with minor blemishes - with no previous owner\'s markings. Box inoverall strong Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. Thermos decals are clean and glossy throughout with a few light rubbings– also in overall strong Excellent plus C-8.5 condition.
