This object is a vintage Art Deco bookend depicting a laughing baby satyr or young Pan with small horns and a pan flute, designed by sculptor Helen Liedloff for the Fan Company of New York in the 1930s.Made of a composition or clay material with a dark bronze-like patina, it features a smiling child's bust with tiny horns on the forehead and a stylized set of panpipes sculpted across the base.
