Up for sale is a vintage MAGNUS UX4 bayonet-lock 4-pin vacuum tube socket, manufactured during the early era of battery-powered radio equipment. Unlike common molded Bakelite sockets, this premium example features a heavy cast aluminum body with clearly marked binding post terminals for Plate (P), Grid (G), Filament Positive (F+), and Filament Negative (F-/6V).
The bayonet-lock design was used with early locking-base UX4 vacuum tubes and provides a secure mechanical connection while the spring contacts firmly grip the tube pins. The exposed binding posts make this style especially desirable for antique radio restoration, early laboratory equipment, demonstration boards, or vintage experimental apparatus.
Condition:This socket is in very good vintage condition. The cast aluminum body shows normal age-related oxidation and light cosmetic wear consistent with age. The original MAGNUS name is clearly stamped into the housing. All four binding posts remain intact with their insulating washers and hardware present. The internal spring contacts appear clean and undamaged. This item has not been electrically tested.
