Rare vintage Marks Toggery advertising pocket lighter from Harvey, Illinois.
This is a great piece of local Illinois advertising history, featuring engraved promotional lettering for Marks Toggery, a longtime men’s clothing and furnishings store located at 200 East 154th Street in Harvey, Illinois.

The lighter has a vintage brass/gold-tone metal body with a simple rectangular pocket-lighter design. The advertising is engraved directly into the metal rather than being a modern printed graphic.
The “44th Year” reference makes this particularly interesting because it provides a historical clue to the age of the lighter and the business. Marks Toggery is documented in Harvey publications from the 1940s, including advertisements identifying the store at 200 East 154th Street.
