This vintage Neidco ceramic lamb planter is in very good to excellent vintage condition, which is highly uncommon for mid-century Japanese ceramics of this age.
There are no chips, cracks, or hairline fractures. There are two very tiny, minor "flea bite" glaze nicks located on the bottom edge of the bottom lip. They are extremely small and do not detract from display. There is also one spot on the left side of the bow that appears to be a nick but it is glazed and smooth to the touch.
This is a rare find with no visible glaze crazing. The glossy finish remains bright and clear. The planter is clean inside with no dirt residue, water staining, or plant use discoloration.
You can see minor, normal shelf-wear on the unglazed bottom resting feet. There is one tiny factory manufacturing black spec on the back of one ear and one small glaze slub on the back of the other ear (both fully original to the production process and on the backside only).
These kitschy pieces were produced by several prominent Japanese exporters of the era, including Rubens, Napco, Relpo, and Inarco.
The foil Neidco Japan label is intact on the underside so I assume this planter was exported by Neidco.
