Wonderful original Regent Cigarettes King Size box produced by the Riggio Tobacco Corporation of New York—a scarce piece of American tobacco advertising and packaging.The cream and deep red cardboard box features the Regent shield logo on the front and retains its original sliding inner box. Inside is the original printed advertising panel describing Regent’s exclusive “multiple-blend” tobacco and identifying:RIGGIO TOBACCO CORPORATION • NEW YORKThe reverse is marked:FACTORY NO. 94 – 1ST DIST. OF N.Y.
MADE IN U.S.A.along with the original federal tobacco-package notice and Factory No. 94 identification.Regent was a cigarette brand of the Riggio Tobacco Corporation. Surviving Regent packages from this same New York factory are documented from the WWII era, including dated 1943–45 examples, while the brand continued to be advertised into the 1950s. Because the original tax stamp on this particular box is largely missing, I have not assigned it a specific year.Measures approximately 3.5” wide x 3” high.Empty—no cigarettes or tobacco included.Wonderful original condition for display, with considerable authentic age and handling wear including edge and corner wear, scuffs, discoloration, staining, remnants of the original tax seal, and wear/creasing to the projecting paper portions. The interior advertising remains especially attractive and legible.
