This is an early vintage STARR Brown MFG Co corkscrew combo wall mount bottle opener, marked STARR, Brown MFG Co, Newport News, VA, and PATD APR 1925. This is the second-generation style corkscrew combination opener with the corkscrew mounted through the body and designed to rest in the rear slot when not in use.
The opener combines a wall mount bottle opener with a folding corkscrew, giving it a more specialized hotel, bar, restaurant, and service-use design than a standard fixed wall opener. Please note that the lower razor strop hook / bottom hook is broken off on this example. The corkscrew is present.

Brown MFG Co of Newport News, Virginia is closely associated with some of the most recognizable American wall mount bottle openers, including STARR and later STARR \"X\" designs. Early STARR openers were marketed for commercial locations where a fixed opener could prevent loss, damage, and inconvenience compared with loose handheld openers.
The corkscrew combo version was promoted as a practical solution for hotels and similar settings, where guests or staff might otherwise damage furniture or fixtures when a proper opener was not available. This combination form gave hotels, bars, and service areas a fixed bottle opener and corkscrew in one wall-mounted piece.

This is an early STARR corkscrew combination opener marked PATD APR 1925. The built-in corkscrew rests in the rear slot when not in use. It is a less commonly seen STARR / Brown MFG Co form compared with standard wall mount bottle openers.

Vintage used condition. Shows surface wear, oxidation/discoloration, scratches, plating loss, residue, and general age/use wear throughout. The corkscrew is present and folds into the rear slot.
