Vintage Bronze Saint Nicholas “NIKOLAUS” Relief Plaque – Religious Wall Art
Impressive and substantial vintage cast bronze relief plaque depicting Saint Nicholas (St. Nikolaus), one of the most recognized and beloved saints in Christian tradition.
The word “NIKOLAUS” is prominently incorporated into the upper part of the composition, while the deeply modeled relief presents several traditional episodes associated with the life and miracles of Saint Nicholas.
The central figure shows the saint dressed as a bishop and holding his pastoral staff. Surrounding narrative scenes appear to reference some of his best-known legends, including his generosity toward those in need, his protection of children and his traditional association with sailors and travelers.
