Vintage Samoan Siapo Elei Tapa Cloth.  Definitely some holes &  wear along the folds where it\'s been folded for years. It could be displayed as is, but it\'d be well worth restoring, too.

(Possibly from the 60\'s or 70s, auntie traveled a lot during that time)

Tapa cloth is made by beating the inner bark of the paper mulberry tree into thin strips, which are then beaten together to form large sheets. Then they\'re adorned with paint, commonly from mangrove, and often using stencils cut from coconuts.
