Wonderful antique Sengbusch Self-Closing Inkstand, specifically the popular Round No. 55 model. This unique office collectible dates back to the early 20th century. It features its iconic thick, heavy clear glass reservoir base and its patented hard rubber cap assembly.
The top of the cap is clearly marked with the manufacturer details and patent dates spanning from 1903 to 1907. The patented internal float mechanism was designed to seal the ink automatically when the dip pen was removed, preventing evaporation and spills.
Condition: The item is in great vintage condition. The glass base has excellent clarity with no major cracks or heavy chips. The hard rubber top is intact and shows crisp lettering.
